RealView - Rules Manager UI

One of my favorite initiatives was building a self-service UI for my appraisal review product, RealView. This project involved redesigning an outdated interface and introducing new functionality made possible by transforming all client data from flat files to a database through an ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) process. The new UI, combined with a database-driven rules engine, empowered users to make real-time configuration changes to their appraisal review product.

Realcondition Report - messaging portal

One of the products I manage is a property condition report, RealCondition Report, which lenders use to assess the risk and condition of a property by having an inspector visit the site and complete a detailed report. I enhanced the user experience for RealCondition Report by creating a new Messaging UI portal within the platform. This feature enabled users to directly communicate with vendors and inspectors regarding their orders—allowing them to get real-time status updates, request cancellations, and more.

This change also brought significant internal benefits. It eliminated a time-consuming task previously handled by the support team, who acted as intermediaries, manually relaying hundreds of messages each week between clients and vendors. After the launch of the Messaging UI, this manual process was no longer necessary, greatly improving efficiency and reducing operational overhead.

RealView - Word Search

Another major enhancement I worked on was RealView Word Search, a rule-building tool that enables users to create business rules to scan appraisal reports for specific keywords or phrases. When a flagged term is detected, clients are automatically alerted to the presence of potentially biased or unacceptable language. This feature helps clients manage risk and maintain compliance with industry regulations.

As fair lending practices and concerns around biased or subjective terminology became more prominent in the market, demand for this feature grew significantly. RealView Word Search strengthened our value proposition and quickly became a key selling point for lenders.
